Course grades will be based on...

1) two mid-term exams (each worth 25% of the final grade)...
2) a final exam (35%)...
3) an individually prepared 4-5 page paper based on the experiment developed in recitation (10%)...
4) and attendance and participation in recitation (5%).

Grading policies of note:

  • There will be no make-up mid-term exams. If one or more mid-terms are missed, the final will constitute a larger percentage of the final grade.
  • Half of the questions on the final exam will cover the material assigned after the second mid-term; the other half will be cumulative (i.e., covering the whole semester).
  • All exams will be multiple choice.
  • Late papers will not be accepted.
