Topic: Aggression

In today’s class, Dr. Carlston began his discussion of aggression. He began with the question: “Are groups of people likely to be more or less aggressive than individuals?” In general, we tend to find that groups are more violent. Several reasons for this occurrence were discussed. He then discussed different types of aggression: emotional aggression (e.g., Robber’s Cave Expt.), instrumental aggression (used the social dilemma game here). Finally, he ended with a discussion of the impact of using threats.
