There are different subareas of social psychology:

1.  Group processes--how do groups interact?  Do groups make better decisions than individuals alone?
2.  Personal relationships--e.g. self disclosure is one area of study
3.  Attitudes--big area, persuasion (attitude change) is important
4.  Social cognition--how do we describe people?
5.  Personality--distinguishing people on various dimensions--e.g. need for stimulation as it relates to introversion/extraversion
